Valentine's Day with Daddy

This Saturday, February 11, 2012 the Brooklyn Children’s Museum will host the first ever “Circle of Love” Dad & Daughters Ball.  Daddy’s little girl can dress up in her princess gown and dance in the arms of her favorite guy.  Can’t dance? Don’t worry a dance instructor will be on hand to help everyone move to the latest music provided by a celebrity DJ from WBLS 107.5 FM.  Dunkin Donut will provide light refreshments for our dancing divas and dads.  The little princesses will receive a corsage, Valentine’s card, and a photograph.  Curious George gets the party started at 5:30 PM and guest can get their boogie on until 7:30 PM.  Tickets are $25 per couple for non-museum members and $10 per additional child. Members pay $18 per couple and $7 for each additional child.  Tickets are limited.  See Brooklyn Children’s Museum

Brooklyn, NY county of Kings and home to over 2.5 million people offers many interesting places to see during a visit.  So grab your $27 unlimited metro card and get ready to explore some of the best that Brooklyn has to offer.
Coney Island is a great way to spend a day in Brooklyn, NY.  On one of Brooklyn's extra hot days you may want to start off at the beach.  Enjoy miles of sand, the cool ocean water and array of people and sounds from all over the world.  If sand is not your thing, then hit the boardwalk.  As you stroll across the Coney Island boardwalk be sure to indulge in the many delicious food and drink options, including the World Famous Nathan Hot Dog Stand.

Also on the board walk is access to the NY Aquarium; which houses over 350 marine species and many exhibits and shows through out the day.

It does not end there, why not take in a baseball game at the MCU Stadium and watch Brooklyn's very own minor league team the Cyclones play.  Individual game tickets range in price from $8-$16.   Check out the team website at www.brooklyncyclones.com for schedule and listing of other events.
Sandwiched in the middle of all this greatness is the the biggest attraction of them all...the Coney Island amusement park.  This amusement park features over 65 rides,  including  the historic Cyclone roller-coaster, the enormous Wonder  Wheel, and the Greatest Show on Earth, The Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Big Tent Circus.

Your children are Fancy huh?

Summertime brings many activities for youngsters, like swimming, sleep-away camp, amusement parks and family vacations. The last thing parents want to deal with during a fun filled HOT summer is extensive daily hair care. One way to ease some of your little ones haircare needs is by taking them to a salon that caters to children.

Child's Play Kid Salon in Brooklyn NY was made with the young princess or prince in mind. The decor has brightly colored walls with popular cartoon characters painted all around the salon. A couple of large flat screen televisions are placed on the walls, and they are always tuned to popular children shows on Nickelodeon or even The Cartoon Network. The salon also has a library area and a few desk and chairs for reading and doing homework.

With over 300 hairstyles, viewable on a slide show in the reception area; there is a little something for every taste. Professional stylist wash, condition and blow out the hair and complete the selected styles. Beads, barrettes, are included with the style. Prices start at $40.00 and $65 for extensions on braided hairstyles.

Although Child's Play Kid Salon does not accept appointments, patrons may call and place their name on the book. The client will receive a call from the salon when their name has almost reached the top of the list. I highly suggest you take advantage of this service as the salon stays busy and the children may get restless waiting. Give Child's Play Kid Salon a try and tell us what you think.
